Greetings from the School of Education at High Point University
Thank you for your interest in teacher education at High Point University. In keeping with North Carolina's mission to produce competitive 21st century students in grades K-12, the School of Education is pleased to announce new programs of study in teacher education, effective fall 2010. With input from faculty, students, and public school professionals, new courses have been carefully developed to reflect the latest research on best practices in teaching. All new programs of study include a strong emphasis in literacy instruction, technology integration, collaboration, and interdisciplinary curriculum. Our faculty is commited to producing knowledgeable and skilled classroom teachers who are successful leaders both in and out of the classroom.
All of our teacher education programs at High Point University are approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). We are fortunate to be surrounded by so many excellent school districts with whom the School of Education enjoys many collaborative projects.
