Greetings from the School of Education at High Point University

Thank you for your interest in Teacher Education at High Point University.  Our programs have long been recognized for their excellence throughout North Carolina and the eastern United States.  Coursework is broadly based within the liberal arts tradition, rigorous, field centered, and highly personalized. In keeping with the mission of 21st century teacher preparation, our students are prepared for today's classrooms and are exposed to the latest technology methodologies and strategies to engage young learners in problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration.  The School of Education has many partnerships with area public schools and our fieldwork opportunities begin early in the sophomore year.  Students tutor, assist with instruction, and complete service learning projects in local elementary, middle, and secondary classrooms.

All of the teacher education programs at High Point University are approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  More than 85% of our graduates are currently teaching in the public schools of North Carolina and out of state.

Please browse the links above for more information on our undergraduate, graduate and evening degree programs for prospective teachers and school administrators.  Feel free to schedule an appointment to discuss your options today!
